….as party heads for unimaginable election victory
John Murwira in Chinhoyi.
As the nation heads for harmonized elections, this year, ZANU-PF
party has intensified its voter mobilization strategies with a cell
verification exercise, to start soon.
Addressing a ZANU-PF Mashonaland West PCC meeting, in
Chinhoyi, recently, Ambassador Christopher Mutsvangwa, who is the party Spokesperson
and Politburo member announced a call for the important scientific cell
verification exercise to be implemented, across the nation with commencement
dates to be communicated soon.
“As enshrined in our ZANU-PF Constitution, there shall be a
cell verification exercise, we want to make sure that the numbers in our cells
do tally with the number of our members who are registered to vote, this is a
very important exercise meant to make sure ZANU-PF wins, we want to be
scientific,” said Mutsvangwa.
ZANU-PF Deputy Political Commissar,Cde Webster Shamhu,said
with the coming cell verification exercise the party was heading for an
unimaginable victory.
“We want more than 75%
0f the vote, 2/3 majority or more parliamentary seats, go out there make sure
you register all those who are yet to register.
“The register from the cell verification exercise will be
the official document to be used by the party, so go and do preparations for
the important exercise, date for the commencement of the exercise will be
communicated soon, “said Shamhu.
Mashonaland West Zanu Pf Provincial Chairperson, Mary Mliswa
Chikoka confirmed that the province was on a massive voter registration drive,
to make sure that those still to register, do so, before proclamation of the
election date, by His Excellency President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa.
“Voter registration is going well let’s unite, make sure
that we register all those who are yet to register, we have received 10 000
liters of fuel earmarked for voter mobilization so let’s play our part to make
sure come elections, President Mnangagwa and ZANU-PF wins resoundingly,”
“As a province we have a great number of Aliens who had
difficulties in accessing national documents, lets assist them to acquire the
necessary documents, as well as registering them to vote,” she said.
Speaking at the same PCC meeting, Hon Ziyambi Ziyambi, ZANU
(PF) Politburo member, and Party Secretary for Science and Technology and also
Minister of Justice, Legal, and Parliamentary Affairs said The Zimbabwe
Electoral Commission ZEC was yet to come up with a final delimitation report.
“What you saw being presented to President Mnangagwa,by ZEC
chairperson is not the final delimitation report but were submissions
explaining how ZEC was proposing on the delimitation process, as enshrined in
our constitution,” said Ziyambi .
“The law is clear in that ZEC must consult before the final
report and they have consulted, the President is now looking into the documents.
“After the President is satisfied, that’s when he will give
ZEC the greenlight to finish the process, and come out with the final
delimitation report,” he said.
Ambassador Mutsvangwa said the ongoing delimitation process
was a clear testimony of Zimbabwe being a democratic country.
“As you have witnessed parliamentarians from both ZANU-PF
and opposition parties all debated on the delimitation report, airing their views,
thus showing manifestation of democracy in Zimbabwe,” he said.
Ambassador Mutsvangwa said Second Republic ’s engagement and
re-engagement drive was bearing fruits with formerly hostile western countries,
including the United States calling for friendly ties.
“For the past 22 years, the American Government was
financing the opposition to unseat the government after the country’s land Reform
Program.
“A top American diplomat approached ZANU-PF party’s
headquarters and revealed that they have decided not to align and support a
single party in Zimbabwe,as they now recognize all political parties as equal.
“Chamisa and the opposition should not brag that they have a
superpower on their side. Just in case the opposition is not aware, I have just
revealed it now that President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s engagement and
re-engagement initiative has forced the Americans to want to be friends with
us. Remember, the President always says we are friends to all and enemies to
none.
“The US official said his government will respect whoever
wins and we told them that they need to accept and advise the opposition to
respect and accept whoever wins or loses,” he said.
Ambassador Mutsvangwa said the Americans refocus, was a result
of the massive turnaround in socio- political and economic developments, the
Second Republic was implementing.
