Edutech brings smiles to Jameson high school learners
An educational solutions company which deals in equipping
schools with top notch digital gadgets has rewarded students at Jameson High
School.
The company`s initiative is also set to yield educational
transformative results, at the school.
Education is one of the pillars of socio-economic
development and the availing of technology tools to students has a positive
contributory net effect on the realization of Vision 2030, through sustainable
innovation that supports industrialization.
The school got an accolade from the Permanent Secretary of
Primary and Secondary Education, Mrs Tumisang Thabela.
Jameson High was rewarded for excelling academically and in
sport in 2019, but never got the accolade, at that opportune time, since Covid
19 regulations were in full force, herby preventing the Education Ministry from
presenting the due accolade to the school.
Edutech educational technology firm was highly impressed by
the projects which were showcased by the students, which are Solar water heater
and electro-chemical cell breathalyzers, which can detect alcohol and substance
abuse from learners, thereby curbing drug abuse in schools.
The firm donated an incubation program seed capital for the
young scientists, at the school and six research tablets to the learners.
Mr Luke Musambasi who is the chief executive officer at
Edutech pledged to assist the learners with scholarships to further their
scientific based studies, when the students reach university level.
The six learners who received some of the donated equipment
are, Tatenda Mudavanhu, Waton Karanda, Tadiwanashe Mahachi, Takudzwa Giwa and Mula
Mumba and their teacher is Mr Isaac Nota.
